Ryu (Ree-yoo) is a Japanese word meaning, "Dragon", the starting point for the design team when developing the concept for this new ramen restaurant.

Deep, worn textures are prevalent throughout the design, taking inspiration from the Japanese philosophy of Wabi Sabi, seeing the beauty in patinated surfaces and materials.

Glass blockwork adds a glistening effect to the walls which are textured with rough plaster and a metallic dragon motif. The mixture of materials is stunning, metallic mesh and neon sitting side by side with charred timber and terrazzo.

There are lots of bespoke fittings and small details within the CGI that gives the visuals depth and complexity; the brass fittings in the table tops, the intricate bric-a-brac on the bar display, and the table prints behind the glass blocks all add to the subtle beauty of the images.
